Wood Grain Leather Fox Mask

I am so excited about how this mask turned out! The bold lines are carved freehand into the leather.  If you look closely, you can see where I went back with another tiny knife and scratched in further texture.  Most of my masks are normally painted with acrylic.  To get the wood grain effect I had to swap to leather dye.  I used many washes of so many subtle color changes.  Its took a good three days of staining, letting it set and dry and then repeating. This mask is made from 6oz veg tan leather, tooled and molded then stained with water based dye before being sealed.
