Sorceress

I was so lucky that this mask was won by one of my local patrons who was gracious enough to let me borrow it long enough to get proper photos.  I made this mask a month ago for a charity auction to help the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center.  I LOVED space camp as a kid.  I was provided with a white polystyrene mask and the direction to get creative and do whatever I want to make a one of a kind work. Of course I had to work in leather.  I promise that little white mask is under there.  I even lined it with a very thin layer of complementing purple suede for comfort.  The bits dangling from the chains are jewel beetle wings.  You can't really see in the photograph but the chains and wings dangle from the tips of the horns and drape across the back of the head.  With all the extra weight and jewelry I decided to add a strap and buckle to give a little more stability while being worn.  I love how this turned out and I am really looking forward to further developing this idea in more of my work.  If you would like to comission something similar feel free to contact me through my Etsy
