Beltane crown and mask by SilverCicada Beltane crown and mask by SilverCicada
I decided to take a few quick shots while waiting on my hair to dry. I'm excited about how this turned out. Its all leather that I hand tooled and formed. The headband is oilskin while the leaves and horns are veggy tanned. I don't think that I'll have reason to wear this set again so look on my Etsy if you would like to give it a good home. I still have the pattern around here somewhere if someone would like to commission one in fall colors. (common, gimme an excuse to play in paint!)

That is gorgeous craftsmanship. You pulled off the depth on the horns brilliantly. I hope I get as good as you.

I too am curious about the horn anatomy. I thought they were real at first glance.

thank you! They are made out of tooled leather same as the leaves. I accentuated the ridges with a little paint and shaped the edges back to give it the illusion of a curved surface. You can see it a little better before I painted them

lol that is so amazing. painting and colors ar5e not my strong point. (color blind, so never kinda thought it would be useful.) I am very envious of your ability for illusion. love it!

Dang heck crap! That is stunning! How'd you get the awesome ridging on the horns? Can we see it from more angles?

would never have guessed that the leaves are leather, too.
how did you color them?
must have taken a while to get all the details done.

would love to see how it looks when somebody's wearing them. :)

that model head of yours is very pretty. where did you get it? over here, I haven't found any I liked on sight like this one...

All the color on the horns and leaves is done in layers of acrylic paint.

I haven't gotten any pictures back of me from the ball that aren't of the back of my head so I need to bribe a human to sit still for a sec.

The model I found at a thrift store but I know you can get them for cheep at a wig shop in my area.

It looks amazing. I love the horns especially. I think I'd prefer a darker coloring for the leaves, but it suits the early season well this way.

This is absolutely brilliant. I hope you are proud. The ram's horns remind me of images of Hellenistic rulers (particularly Alexander) where it showed their divinity. I sure you could sell a series of these.
